RNKD is an app for local tournaments. Organizers use it to publish an event, take entry fees, and run the bracket from courtside. Players use it to find events nearby, register their team, follow the bracket live, and earn a rank that carries from one event to the next.
This page covers both sides. If you only care about one, jump to For players or For organizers.
Open the app and browse tournaments near you. Filter by sport, and look at the card before you commit: date, venue, format, team size, entry fee, the organizer's advertised prize (if there is one), and how many spots are left.
You can browse without an account. You need one to register.
Tournaments on RNKD are team events. The captain registers the team and pays one entry fee for it. Paying is what holds the spot, so a team isn't on the roster until its entry is paid.
At paid (entry-fee) tournaments, every match counts toward your rank. Free tournaments are casual and don't change it.
Your rank is separate for each sport and team size (2v2 volleyball and 6v6 volleyball are different ladders), and separate again for coed, men's, and women's events. Full details: How RNKD ranks work.
RNKD is built for people who already run local events: rec leagues, club nights, one-day tournaments. It replaces the Google Form, the payment app, the spreadsheet bracket, and the group chat.
Create the event on your phone in eight steps: basics, sport, teams, structure, match format, venue and courts, money, and a final review. Your event goes live to players nearby right away. There's no application and no approval queue. You accept the organizer agreement once, and then you can publish.
Entry fees go to your payout account (set up through Stripe) once the event is complete and a 7-day hold passes. RNKD's service fee is added on top of your entry fee and paid by the player, so the entry fee you set is what you receive per team.
If you advertise a prize pool, you pay the winners yourself. RNKD doesn't hold or distribute prize money. The app shows you who placed and can open a payment app with the winning captain's handle filled in, and it keeps a record once you mark them paid.
More: RNKD for organizers.
The app is free to download and free to use. Organizers can run free events at no cost. For paid events, RNKD adds a 15% service fee on top of the organizer's entry fee, and players see the full price before they pay.
The app supports 18 sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer, futsal, pickleball, tennis, padel, table tennis, badminton, squash, Spikeball, flag football, ultimate, dodgeball, softball, kickball, cricket, and rugby sevens. Each has its own formats (for example, volleyball 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and 6v6). Whether there's an event near you depends on local organizers. RNKD is starting with a beta in Metro Detroit.
Yes, to register and play. RNKD is free on iOS and Android. Event links open in a browser, but registering, paying, signing the waiver, checking in, and following the bracket all happen in the app. Organizers run events from the app too.
Only paid tournaments count toward your rank. Free tournaments are for playing, and they don't move your RP. The rule is simple: if there's no entry fee, it doesn't count.
Players pay when they register. Once the event is complete and a 7-day hold passes, RNKD sends the organizer's entry fees to the payout account they set up through Stripe. RNKD's service fee is paid by players on top of the entry fee, so organizers receive the full entry fee they set. Prize money is separate: organizers pay winners directly.
Withdraw from the event page. 7 or more days before the event, you get a full refund. Between 3 and 7 days, 50%. Inside 3 days, no refund. If the organizer cancels, everyone is refunded in full.
Yes, as long as you're eligible for the event's division. Each division has its own rank and its own placement matches, so a men's result doesn't change your coed rank.
No. The organizer enters the scores, so they can't also be on a roster in the same event.
You can hide yourself from leaderboards in your privacy settings, and choose whether your real name or only your username is shown.
